General Questions

The ZOOM Children's Museum is a non-profit, private organisation and has been a central part of Vienna’s children's culture since 1994. Here, children can explore, work, play and ask questions as they please. In exhibition and studio rooms specially designed for children, they can investigate topics from art, science and everyday culture in a playful way. Child-friendly play stations, objects, artistic installations and workshops arouse curiosity and stimulate creativity. This gives children an exciting, sensory introduction to the museum world. Over 1,600 square metres, ZOOM offers four different areas for visitors up to the age of 14: the ZOOM hands-on exhibition for children aged 6 to 12, the ZOOM Ocean play area for children aged 8 months to 6 years, the ZOOM Studio workshop area for children aged 3 to 12, and the ZOOM Animation Studio for children and young people aged 8 to 14. The ZOOM Mobile, an outreach offering outside the museum, complements the programme with workshops for children aged 4 and over.

You can find our current opening hours here.

All ZOOM programmes have fixed start times. At the beginning there is always an introduction to the theme of the respective area. Since there may be waiting times at the box office, you should calculate 15 minutes into your schedule.

Tickets can be paid for online by debit card, credit card and instant bank transfer. We offer cash and card payment on site.

It is generally not possible to book an area exclusively, and ZOOM does not offer children's birthday parties.
